Holiday bazaar scheduled

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans annual holiday bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 N. Forest Dr. in Kenai. Handmade crafts, candies, jams/jellies, baked goods and holiday decorations will be available. Proceeds will support mission work. It is open to the public. Breakfast, turkey shoot scheduled

The First Baptist Church of Port Nikiski will hold a complimentary breakfast and high powered riflery paper turkey shoot at the Snow Shoe Gun Club at 8 a.m. at Nov 15. Six butterball turkeys, a one night stay at the Diamond M Ranch Honeymoon Suite and a $25 gift card to the Bear's Den Family Restaurant are up for grabs to the top shooters. Nikiski churches plans community worship service

A service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Nikiski High School. Childcare provided. For more information contact 776-8679.

New Reverend installed

Rev. Tim Tolar was installed as the first pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church of the Unaltered Confession in Kenai by Bishop James Heiser of the Evangelical Lutheran Diocese of North America. The church worships at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Salvation Army Worship Center.

Group gathers for support

Soldotna United Methodist Church conducts a life, love and loss support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St. Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group. Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.

Women's prayer group meets for breakfast

The United Methodist Church of the New Covenant in Kenai hosts a women's prayer and share group at 7 a.m. Mondays at Charlotte's Restaurant in Kenai. It is open to all women.

Bible study continues

The Soldotna Day Aglow will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Peninsula Christian Center at the corner of Cohoe and Farnsworth behind The Salvation Army store for prayer and Bible study Beloved Disciple, by Beth Moore.

Fellowship and coffee will begin at 9:30 a.m. Baby-sitting will be provided.

Nikiski Aglow meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Nikiski New Hope Fellowship at Mile 23 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Women may attend Bible study, prayer and worship.

Saturday Bible classes slated

The Nikiski Nazarine Church will hold a women's Bible study at 9 a.m. Saturdays at the church at Mile 18 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The eight-week Beth Moore class, titled "Stepping up," will be about Psalms. It is open to all women.
