Flu shot available in Soldotna

Flu shots will be given from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Soldotna Senior Center. Anyone interested in receiving the shot must be on the sign-up sheet. A donation of $10 is requested; recipients of the shot may bring their Medicare card to bill Medicare. Individuals may receive a pneumonia shot if they have not had one in five years and if they are in a high risk category.

Preschoolers' play and reading group meets today

Preschoolers up to age 5 and their parents are invited to join the Read and Run Play Group from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today at the Sterling Elementary Gym. The play group includes free play and story time with the Sterling Elementary first graders. For more information, call 262-7293.

The North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly luncheon today. The topic of discussion will be the gas-to-liquids project. The group meets at noon at the Lighthouse Inn.

Flu shot available in Homer

Head Start meeting is tonight

A meeting will take place tonight to introduce Sterling community members to Head Start, a program for preschool children and their families. The meeting will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Sterling Elementary. A spaghetti dinner will be served and there will be activities for children. The event and dinner are free.

Explorer Post open house planned at CES

Cooper Landing fish and game committee to meet

The Cooper Landing Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 7 tonight in the Cooper Landing Ambulance Hall to receive comments and proposals to change Southcentral hunting and trapping regulations, to comment and vote on Board of Fisheries proposals and to update the Federal Subsistence Board Kenai Peninsula Rural Determination Reconsideration and subsistence fishery proposals.
