Yonnie, Waisanen renew vows

Dottie Yonnie and Kyle Waisanen renewed their wedding vows Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at the Cho Family's Kenai Riverbend Resort. Hal Smalley officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Pastor Jerry and Linda Yonnie of Flagstaff, Ariz. She graduated from Coconio High School in Flagstaff and is a senior at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo.

The groom is the son of Richard and Sharon Wais-anen. He graduated from Soldotna High School and Fort Lewis College. He is a fishing guide.

During the ceremony, the bride's father gave a blessing in Navajo and English, read scripture and presented the groom with a sterling silver and turquoise bolo tie.

The bride's attendants were Sara Waisanen, Marie Yonnie, Jerilyn Yonnie and L.V. Sanchez. Attending the groom were Joe Cannava, Nathan Warren, Dohn Cho and Mark Kincaid. The bride's daughter, Joy, was the flower girl. The couple also has a daughter named Denali.

The bride's grandparents, Pastor and Mrs. Lemuel Yazzie, were the honored guests. He closed the ceremony with a prayer in both Navajo and English.

Carolyn and Larry Kuechle and Joan Lynch took photos, Dana Cannava assisted with the planning and decorating for the ceremony, Lisa Kent decorated for the reception at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center and Jeff Herrman arranged music. Susie and Hal Smalley, Eileen and Phil Bryson and Sue and Dick Pike hosted out-of-state guests.
