MANKATO, Minn. Chris Fournier scored the game-winning goal 32 seconds into the third period to help Alaska-Anchorage defeat Minnesota State, Mankato 2-1 Saturday night.
Fournier finished with a goal and an assist and helped the Seawolves (4-4-0, 1-3-0 WCHA) avoid a two-game sweep by the Mavericks (2-5-1, 1-3-0).
Chris King stopped 40 shots in goal for Anchorage, who were outshot by the Mavericks 41-23. The Seawolves converted on one of their three power-play opportunities while the Mavericks could not convert on either of their two power-play chances.
