Good morning.

Something to think about: "If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy." anonymous

The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area facility and the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will be closed Thursday in observance of Veterans Day.

The Rev. Laura Skiba of North Star United Methodist Church mentions that the Noel Tree is decorated with children's information for their Christmas needs at M & M Market in Nikiski.

For more information, call 776-8732.

The senior citizens had another successful Thelma McConnell Scholarship dinner and auction.

They raised $4,300 that will go into its scholarship account.

DVD movies wanted: Carol Leeper has a grandson in Iraq and he has let his grandmother know that they have viewed their current DVDs and know them by heart.

Call the senior center at 776-7654 to give your used DVDs to Carol, who will send them to the troops in Iraq.

What U.S. organization provides character-building activities for girls? The Girl Scouts and they meet every Monday at Nikiski North Star Elementary School from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

This is a get-well wish to my friend, Matt Speed, who is recovering from a broken leg: Matt, I pray your recovery goes smoothly.

Your Nov. 16 column will come to you from Valley City, N.D. Grandma Beth and Grandpa Don will be visiting with grandson Gavin and his parents, Becky and Lonnie Swenson. It is Gavin's first birthday, and he will be 1 on Saturday.
