The ninth annual food drive is under way. Students wishing to bring canned or boxed goods to school should do so by Nov. 17. A field trip to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank is scheduled for Nov. 19.

Larry Lewis from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will visit the school Monday. Lewis is a welcomed guest who shares information with the students about Alaska's wildlife.

Congratulations to first-grader, Kanzetta Johnson; kindergartner, Josiah Luze; and second-grader, Driskoll Heath who have exhibited extra effort this past week.

The topic for sharing this month has been health, nutrition and the human body. Tanner Wortham brought toothbrushes for all the students; James Butler shared photos of surgery on a dog; Sarah Pugh had a model of a skeleton to share; Connor Jones and Joseph Coval shared body books; Kanzetta Johnson brought a talking diagram of the skeletal system; Adaya Pollock discussed vitamins to keep bodies healthy; and Josiah Luze shared a gun locker to keep kids safe and away from guns. Sharing will resume in January.
