Blood drives on tap

The Blood Bank of Alaska will hold blood drives at the following area schools: today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ninilchik School library, call Jamie Leman at (907) 567-3301; Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Soldotna High School commons, call Heather Sinclair at 262-7411; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Homer High School gym, call Jodie Johnson at (907) 235-0338.

Donors ages 16 and 17 must have completed parental consent forms. All donors are reminded to eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of liquids before donating blood.

MS group meeting planned

A multiple sclerosis support group meeting will be held at noon today in the Kiska Room of the Mundell Building (formerly the Soldotna Professional Pharmacy.) Lunch will be provided. For more information, call 2662-5030.

Social Security rep to visit center

A Social Security representative will be at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center at 12:30 p.m. today to give a presentation on the Medicare part D prescription drug program. For more information, call Jan Fena at 262-2322.

Safe communities presentation set

Parents of Safe Communities and the Soldotna High School PTSA, in conjunction with the Soldotna Police Department, will give a presentation titled, "Gangs, Bullying and Harassment" from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the SoHi library.
