The following businesses and organizations will be closed in observance of Veteran's Day:

Youth for Understanding at Kenai Peninsula College is recruiting two host families. Each family will be hosting a KPC college student for the spring semester -- first part of January to the middle of May.
One student is a female from the Netherlands and the other is a male from South Korea.
Host families are asked to welcome the student into their homes and provide a room and meals. In addition, each host family will receive a $200 a month stipend. Families are not expected to drive the student everywhere as they have their own funds for transportation. Tot Time and Home-school programs are held at the Kenai Recreation Center on the following days:
Tot Time will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. The cost will be $1 for youth ages 1 to 5 years old.
Home-school will be held from 12:30 from 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. The cost will be $1 per child.
The T-200 dog sled race planning committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Nov 19 and Dec 17 at Tustumena Elementary School.
