The Kenai Peninsula Borough Office of Emergency Management announced Monday that rising water levels on the Snow River may be due to the release of the lake dammed by Snow Glacier.
If the lake is releasing, Kenai Lake may rise up to four feet, and the Lower Kenai River also will rise several feet. Maximum water levels are not expected to breach flood stages.
Officials will continue to monitor the situation, and additional confirmation will be made from the air if the weather clears.
