Article on Pebble mine project left questions unanswered

Posted: Thursday, November 11, 2004

Very impressive! But your piece didn't answer the questions that nag Alaskans: Gobs of gold and other mineral treasures, but what will it do for Alaskans who need work? What percentage of the workers will be Alaskans? Where do Alaskans apply for work? What percentage of the profits will go to Alaskans? Why are United States citizens are treated like criminals at Canadian border and the Canadians get the riches of Alaska? And why can't Alaskans do it as well or better than the Canadians? Are there no U.S. mining companies able to develop Iliamna?

What gives?
