Snow removal, safety reminders issued
The Kenai Peninsula Borough Road Service Area reminds area residents is illegal to plow private snow onto or across the road surface in a manner or in quantities that may constitute a hazard to snow removal equipment or other traffic. Illegal plowing causes safety hazards as well as additional cost. This cost is incurred by the taxpayer.
Residents are asked to help protect their children by informing them of the danger of playing in snow piles and berms near roadways. Operators of heavy equipment used in snow removal may have difficulty seeing children.
