Sterling bazaar fund-raiser set
The Sterling Senior Center will hold its annual arts and crafts bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday at the center at 34453 on the Sterling Highway, across from the Sterling weigh station.

Health career information available
Kenai Peninsula College and the University of Alaska Anchorage will sponsor an informational health career meeting from 10 a.m. to noon today in Room 132 in the Brockel Building at KPC. Topics will cover nursing bachelor of arts and associates degrees, medical assisting, medical technology, radiation technology, dental hygiene, dental assisting, phlebotomy and paramedicine. It is open to the public.

Holiday flea market, bake sale offered
A holiday bazaar and flea market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds. There will be more than 20 vendors.
Tickets are available for a money raffle. Tickets are $20 each. Three hundred tickets are being sold. A grand prize of $1,500, plus 15 other cash payouts will be given. The drawing will be held Dec. 2 at a pasta feed and pie auction. Proceeds will benefit the fair.

Bereavement workshop set
Hospice of the Central Peninsula will host Donna Stephens for a bereavement workshop from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at O’Neil Hall. The workshop is designed to help participants map a journey through grief.

Talk focuses on emergency preparedness
A community discussion on emergency preparedness, “Make Sure We’re Ready,” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nikiski Community Center.
The forum is an opportunity to meet representatives from the industrial and utility companies and emergency response organizations. The focus is to learn how to prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies.
Emergency response equipment will be on display, and there will be refreshments.
