Team effort makes for spectacular Spooktacular

Posted: Wednesday, November 11, 2009

On Oct. 31 we held our fifth annual Kenai Elks Halloween Spooktacular. We had so many families attend this free event that is was difficult to get an accurate head count. We estimated that about 600 children and adults participated in the Spooktacular, which was far beyond our expectations. With over 50 dedicated members and volunteers working together so diligently the event went on with out a hitch. This year's Spooktacular could not have been this successful without everyone's time, effort and dedication. The generosity of members, volunteers and sponsors made it possible to host this event completely free for the children of our great community. I would like to especially thank our local businesses who are always so very supportive in sponsoring the free youth activities we have hosted throughout the years. The sponsors for the Spooktacular consist of XTO Energy, Spenard Builders Supply, Magtec Alaska Sales and Leasing LLC, McDonalds, Candy Bouquet, Three Bears, Kenai River Pizza, Dairy Queen, Beemuns, .406, Malstons, Coca Cola, Kenai Safeway Bakery, Jersey Subs, Save U More, Kenai Blockbuster, Cresent Electric, Pollard Wire Line, Trustworthy Hardware, Home Depot, Hooked on the Bean, Amore Mocha, Espresso Barn, Station 51, and many members made candy and food donations for the event. Thank you to all who made this years Halloween Spooktacular such a huge success!
