Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 19, 1970, in Soldotna to William and Debbie Jackson. He had two brothers: Joe and Wes Jackson, of Soldotna. He graduated from Soldotna High School in 1988.

Mr. Jackson married Camberly Bowman on Feb. 15, 1991. They shared 19 years of a beautiful life together raising their daughters.

Mr. Jackson was well known in the community for his mechanical skills. He developed his strong work ethic at a young age. He started out driving trucks for his dad. He worked for his grandfather, Harold Jackson, in his parts store. His family said that both of these jobs gave him the experience to become a great mechanic. He was a heavy equipment mechanic at Jackson Construction for several years. He spent the past eight years as a mechanic for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation.

Mr. Jackson's passion was being in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. One of his favorite things to do was float his raft down the upper Kenai River fishing for rainbows with his family and close friends.

The family said, "William had a big heart. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. He was very good at telling stories. He had many nieces and nephews who loved to rough house with him. He was always the life of the party. He loved working with the youth of his church and had a great influence in their lives. We will all miss his laugh."

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Roberta Jackson; granddad, Billy Thompson; uncle, Jim Thompson, and nephew Gage Jackson.
