Ray Mainwaring

Former Kasilof resident Ray Mainwaring, died of natural causes Nov. 6, 2010, in Mesa, Ariz.. He was 94.

Mr. Mainwaring lived in Kasilof from 1957 to 1968. He was born on March 29, 1916, to Leslie and Karin Mainwaring, in Seattle, Wash. He graduated from Renton High School and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles.

In 1937 he married Irene Wood. He served as a pastor in churches in Woodland, California, Seattle, Washington, Kasilof, Clear, and Auke Bay. He was a founder of Solid Rock Bible Camp in Soldotna and radio station KSRM.

Irene Mainwaring preceded him in death in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Myra; three daughters, Janice (Richard) Swanson, of Bodega Bay, Calif.; Karin (Douglas) Newcomb, of Sacramento, Calif.; Susan Mainwaring of Seattle; and son, Paul (Deborah) Mainwaring, of Bothell, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to Solid Rock Bible Camp, in Soldotna.
