By Bill Lowe, Sterling
God bless our veterans; each one we salute you,
for all your faithful service, dedicated and true.
Freedom's because you each followed through,
and the flag we fly, with its red, white and blue,
flies proudly because battles you'd each pursue.
Unless one has served, done a mile in your shoe,
aside from your family, they've not likely a clue,
and probably only has some vague point of view
of the sacrifice you've given and continually do.
God bless you each veteran, our hats off to you.
