Anchorage police seek youth who robbed disabled child

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Police in Anchorage are looking for a young man who robbed a disabled child of a new electric scooter last month.

The robbery occurred about 9 p.m. Oct. 24 when three boys were playing with the scooter in an East Anchorage neighborhood. The scooter was bought for a 12-year-old boy with multiple sclerosis.

The suspect approached the boys and knocked the one on the scooter to the ground. Then he fled with the scooter, described as a Scot-e brand, red, electric with a custom blinking light mounted under the seat. The scooter has a broken headlight.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 14 and 18, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a brown cap, blue and white plaid flannel shirt, black pants and Nike tennis shoes.
