Lewis to speak at historical society
The Kasilof Regional Historical Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the McLane Center, Mile 1 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. Following the business meeting at 7 p.m., Larry Lewis of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will speak on bears on the Kenai Peninsula.

Annual sports swap scheduled
The Kenai Central High School ski team will have its annual sports equipment swap at 9 a.m. Saturday at the school. Participants are to set the price and drop off equipment from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday or from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday and then the ski team will sell it.
Sellers keep 80 percent of sale price; the ski team keeps 20 percent. Money or items should be picked up no later than 1 p.m. Saturday.

Christmas bazaar planned
The Lady Shriner's will hold a Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the Kenai Spur Highway across from the Golden Dragon in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-4912.
Social Security reps to visit peninsula
Social Security Administration representatives will be on the peninsula at the following locations and times: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Seward City Council chambers; noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Homer Senior Citizens Center.
Craft bazaar, auction scheduled
The Peninsula Take-A-Break invites women to its annual craft bazaar and auction from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at the Solid Rock Conference Center. Brunch will cost $7, and free child care will be available. Janice Mathers, a Toastmaster International award winner, will be the featured speaker. Emily Grossman will provide fiddle music.
