Aurora Borealis Charter

Mrs. Ball's kindergarten class has enjoyed its study of Europe. The students particularly enjoyed acting out the traditional folk tales.

Mr. Drury's third-graders just started learning about letter writing. They are writing pen pals in Massachusetts.

Mr. Severson's class has been studying the Middle Ages. Students have been learning about heraldry and made their own coats of arms that are on display in the hallway.

The Student in Good Standing field trip was last week. The children went to the Nikiski pool. Students, teachers and parents enjoyed the activity.

Mrs. Phillips' junior high students are taking their annual trip to the Solid Rock Camp hay tunnel. Students will travel through the hay maze and have lunch and s'mores around the campfire.

The St. Jude Research Hospital math-a-thon CD's and booklets were handed out. Fifty-seven students in kindergarten through eighth grade are participating. Last year's math-a-thon raised $1,750. Pledges will be collected after the Thanksgiving break.

The junior high students participated in the VFW Patriot's Pen Essay Contest. The finalists for this year's contest, titled "My Dream for America," were Michael Bruxvoort, Maya Chay and Marisa Kauffman.
