This is the last week for the all-school raffle. Tickets are $10 each, and Mr. Daniels has vowed to do a push-up for every ticket sold in the class that sells the most.
The Title VII class will go to the Alaska Native Heritage Center on an all-day field trip. Students will explore Native culture and participate in a Native games exploration.
Mrs. Furlong's class thanks Spenard Builders Supply for sponsoring the class trip to the Anchorage Museum of History and Art. The students thought the T-Rex exhibit was awesome. The class also thanks the chaperones for helping to make the trip possible.
Mr. Daniels' class is studying the Southwest region of the United States. The students are finding that classmates have more connections to this region than they thought.
The kindergartners will be studying rocks. The students will collect soil samples, grow crystals and make stone soup. The students will graph, classify, use venn diagrams and determine the hardness of the rock samples. They also will play games that teach about rocks. On Nov. 20, the class will go on a field trip to visit the Soldotna Public Library for story time and to learn how to care for books.
Site council will meet at 2:45 p.m. Monday in the library. The public is invited to attend.
First-grade parents are reminded to help their children practice reading the little books that come home each week.
