Mrs. Overturf's kindergarten class continues culinary discoveries focusing on edible seeds and leaves. The students scooped out a pumpkin, separated the seeds and cooked them for a snack. They also snacked on the collection of edible leaves.

Zoology studies include frog and toad anatomy identification through research at the library. The observation of the latest classroom pet has inspired students to write and ask questions.

Mrs. Sotello's third- through sixth-graders thank Froso's and Country Foods for their contributions to the enchilada fund raiser. The students raised $700 in profit. The proceeds will go toward their Otter Cove trip.

Students are beginning the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank bean soup project. Mixes will be combined Nov. 24 and 25 and delivered Dec. 5. A tour and food sorting duties also will take place.

The classroom has three teams registered to attend Alaska's first LEGO League Tournament in Anchorage on Dec. 6. The competition will feature numerous approaches to solving the same challenge.

The anniversary of the National Centennial of Flight is Dec. 17 and, in celebration, students have selected a plane or spacecraft to research. They will do write-ups and illustrate their projects.

Creek studies and collections are scheduled for Friday and Dec. 12. Students are reminded to dress accordingly.
