Lutefisk, lefse dinner planned

Christ Lutheran Church has slated its annual lutefisk and lefse dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, Mile 0.25 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

Donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, call 262-4757.

Church celebrates anniversary

The Matrix Church will celebrate its one-year anniversary at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Peninsula Christian Center behind the Salvation Army Store in Soldotna.

Special guests are Fay and Chuck Niemann. Fay is the children's pastor at Muldoon Community Assembly in Anchorage. Also, Kermit will try to replace the turkey as the national Thanksgiving symbol. In addition, Thanksgiving food bags and a few gas cards will be made available to anyone who needs them.

The Matrix Church is designed for single parents and their children but there is something for everyone and all are welcome.

Women's prayer group to meet

Nikiski Aglow offers women Christian fellowship, prayer and Bible study every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at North Star Methodist Church, Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. For more information, call Bev Berdahl at 776-8022, Elaine Carpenter at 776-8613 or Wanda Nichols at 776-8691.

Clothing to be given away

The First Baptist Church in Soldotna will hold its last Clothes 4 U give-away from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to give clothing to families and individuals.

Everyone is invited to come and receive the warm clothing they need. The location will be at the church's mission house, 119 Little Ave. It's the first house behind the church building, go to the back door.

Holiday bazaar planned

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. for 4 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Star of the North Lutheran Church at 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai.

A variety of handmade crafts, baked goods and miscellaneous items will be available. All proceeds will go to support mission work. The public is invited.
