Many contributions make 'Board 101' training possible
On behalf of the Kenai Peninsula United Way and the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District, I would like to extend a warm "thank you" to the many individuals that attended the recent "Board 101" training held in Kenai. Representing a wide spectrum of various nonprofit entities from the central peninsula area, these individuals demonstrated their commitment toward building a stronger community.
This training could not have been possible without the enthusiastic support of facilitator, Dennis McMillian, who was backed by the innovative Foraker Group -- an organization based on strengthening nonprofits statewide.
Special thanks to the Pacific Rim Institute for Safety Training and Management (PRISM) Center on Marathon Road. By donating our organizations access to its training rooms, we not only were able to offer this course free of charge to participants, but were able to see first hand the state-of-the-art features available to our community for future seminars and events.
Additionally, thank you for our refreshments, courtesy of the Kenai Senior Center, Country Foods and Kaladi Brothers Coffee.
We look forward to similar training opportunities for our local nonprofit organizations in the future, and sincerely appreciate the support we receive to provide these locally.
