Alcohol and drug abuse council to meet

The Cook Inlet Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse will meet to select board officers at 5 p.m. Monday at 10200 Kenai Spur Highway. For more information, call Henry Novak at 283-9891, ext. 204.

'Toy and Joy' applications being accepted

The Salvation Army's "Toy and Joy" Christmas program signup will begin Monday and run through Dec. 17. Applications are available at The Salvation Army family service office at 11824 Kenai Spur Highway. The office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. For a list of information that is needed in the application process, call 283-4035 or stop by the office.

Social Security reps to visit area

Social Security Administration representatives will be on the Kenai Peninsula from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Seward council chambers; from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Homer Senior Citizens Center. Flu shot clinic planned

There will be a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center for seniors age 65 and older and for high-risk people under the age of 65. For more information, call 262-2322.
