Paul and Pamela Trissel

Posted: Sunday, November 14, 2010

Memorial services are planned for Wasilla residents Pastor Paul J. Trissel and Pamela A. Trissel, who died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, in a vehicle collision in Nikiski.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at The Rock church in Wasilla. Check the Alaska Nazarene Church website for more info

In a life time of ministry in the Church of the Nazarene, Mr. and Mrs. Trissel were taken all over the United States, but Alaska was always home. Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter. Friends said, "Of course he always said he'd only 'drink coffee, fish or hunt if he was alone or with someone.' He was never without a smile, hug, prayer and blessing for everyone he came in contact with."

Mrs. Trissel was an educator for 18 years, working with Title 1 and Migrant school children. She had great joy watching those kids grow and learn. She also loved to garden and tried to "keep Paul in line."

They both shared a passion of watching their kids grow and have their own families. Family always brought them their greatest joy on earth.

The Trissels are survived by his daughter, Laurie Krous, her husband Cliff and their children, Mykaela and Nathaniel, of Spokane, Wash.; son, Paul, his wife Ginger and their children, Casey and Kenny, of North Pole; son, James, his wife Jenni, and their children, James and Jason, of Soldotna.

A memorial fund has been established though the "Trissel Family Ministry," P.O. Box 56618, North Pole, AK 99705.

Arrangements made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
