ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The four-wheeler of a missing Mountain Village man has been recovered from the Yukon River, Alaska State Troopers said.
The search for Andrew Mike Jr., 39, continued Wednesday. Volunteers from Mountain Village and St. Marys dragged the river and used an underwater camera, trooper Sgt. Dan Donaldson said. Searchers also combed nearby land on the chance that Mike made it out of the water, Donaldson said.
Mike was reported missing Sunday when he failed to arrive at Mountain Village after leaving St. Marys on a four-wheeler Friday night.
Ground search crews on Monday found a four-wheeler track leading into open water about three miles downriver from St. Marys, troopers spokesman Greg Wilkinson said.
Searchers located the four-wheeler and pulled it from the water Tuesday afternoon, Donaldson said.
