Dorothy J. Gauthier
Soldotna resident Dorothy J. Gauthier died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the Heritage Place in Soldotna in her sleep. She was 89.
Memorial services will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Soldotna Church of God, 105 Redoubt Ave. in Soldotna. A potluck will follow the services. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate.
Ms. Gauthier was born March 24, 1915, in Norway, Mich., where she was raised and educated. She and her family moved to Alaska in 1952 and homesteaded in Sterling in 1953. Ms. Gauthier was a charter member of the Soldotna Church of God since 1962.
"She loved her family and friends. She loved children and taught Sunday school for most of her years. She will be dearly missed by family and friends," her family said.
Ms. Gauthier is survived by her sisters, Marion Lauden of Astoria, Ore., and Catherine Schumm of San Clemente, Calif.; brother, Clarence A. Gauthier of Longview, Wash.; sons, Kenneth M. Bihn of Anchorage and Donald G. McGhee of Soldotna; daughters, Beverly J. Leach and Theresa M. Humecky, both of Mesa, Ariz.; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
