Nikiski couple busted for grow operation

A search warrant in Nikiski on Tuesday uncovered a commercial marijuana grow.

Members of the Alaska State Troopers’ Alaska Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Enforcement-Southcentral Areawide Narcotics Team, Soldotna police, the Alaska Bureau of Wildlife Enforcement and Alaska Bureau of Investigation searched the residence of Alan Dyekman and Samantha Schultz. Investigators located and seized approximately 6 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana, 122 marijuana plants, $3,900 in U.S. currency, a digital scale and electronic surveillance equipment.

Dyekman and Schultz were present during the search and were arrested and remanded for fourth degree misconduct involving controlled substance.

This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office pending other felony charges.

On Oct. 25 at 8:19, Alaska State Troopers received a report from a 43-year-old female in Sterling that Robert Sachwitz, 45, of Sterling, had fired a gun inside a residence following an argument. Investigation revealed Sachwitz was intoxicated and discharged a weapon inside the residence. No one was injured.

Sachwitz was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree misconduct involving a weapon and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility and held without bail.
