Social Security reps to visit peninsula

Social Security Administration representatives will be on the Kenai Peninsula at the following locations and times: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Seward City Council chambers; noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Homer Senior Citizens Center.

Aviation safety meeting set

The FAA Safety Program, in conjunction with Alaskan Aviation Safety Foundation, will hold a Kenai certified flight instructor-aviation safety meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Marc Paine, an aviation safety counselor, will discuss stall and spin awareness. There is no fee.

Women voters to meet

The Central Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Vintage Moose. Reports from the Observer Corps will be given, followed by a discussion on the book "The Eagle's Shadow."

Craft bazaar, auction scheduled

The Peninsula Take-A-Break invites women to its annual craft bazaar and auction from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Solid Rock Conference Center. Brunch will cost $7, and free child care will be available. Janice Mathers, a Toastmaster International award winner, will be the featured speaker. Emily Grossman will provide fiddle music.

Outdoor club meeting set

The Kenai Peninsula Outdoor Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ruben's in the Kenai Kings Inn. Activities for the year-round, indoor-outdoor club are decided by members.

AARP to plan activities

The AARP will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. The group will discuss potential activities to help members keep a more active lifestyle. Lunch will be served prior to the meeting. For more information, call Vivian at 262-5571.

Kennel club offering dog classes

The Kenai Kennel Club is offering classes at its facility in the former Inlet Card and Craft store in the C Plaza in Kenai. Classes include beginning agility, puppy kindergarten, basic, intermediate and advance obedience, rally obedience and conformation handling.
