No veterans memorial for Soldotna park? As a veteran that is fine, but I have a suggestion.
While traveling on one of our trips, we spent some time in Farmington, N.M. I believe there were two skateboard ramp parks of different configurations built around town. People could drive and park and watch these young people practice and have fun. No police supervision needed, just spectators.
That would be the greatest memorial possible to place Harry Barnes name on a plaque for it. I worked for Harry for several years and he was a good friend and would do everything in his power to encourage young people in snowmobiles, motorcycles or any activity to keep children out of trouble. He was a true "patriot," also.
