Homer, Glennallen win tourney games

The Homer and Glennallen hockey teams started out the End of the Road Shootout in Homer on Thursday with victories. Homer defeated Juneau-Douglas 5-2, while Glennallen topped Delta 11-1.

In the Homer game, Sam Satre paced the Mariners with two goals and an assist. Also scoring for the Mariners were Tracy Quance, Aaron Lewis and Josh Pita. Sam Post made 40 saves for Homer, while Luke Ekert had 21 saves for the Mariners.

Play continues today with Juneau vs. Delta at 5 p.m. and Homer vs. Glennallen at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Juneau plays Glennallen at noon and Homer plays Delta at 2 p.m.
