Church bazaar set

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans annual bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Star of the North Lutheran Church at 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. Handmade crafts and baked goods will be offered.

Grief support offered

Soldotna United Methodist Church holds a life, love, loss support group from noon to 1 p.m. on the first and third Monday of the month at the church at 158 S. Binkley St. Any type of loss is open for discussion in the group. Attendees are asked to bring a brown bag lunch.

Children's Bible club offered

Sterling Baptist Church will begin a weekly children's Bible club from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the church on the Sterling Highway and the corner of Swanson River Road. Some of the planned activities include games, prizes, Bible stories and songs. Youth in grades kindergarten through sixth may attend.

Nikiski Aglow meeting set

Nikiski Aglow meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star United Methodist Church at Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway. Women are invited to attend Bible study, prayer and worship. Soldotna Bible study slated

Soldotna Day Aglow's Beth Moore Bible study on Daniel continues at 10 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 5 at Peninsula Christian Center. The topic will be how to develop integrity in an enticing world and explore prophecy from the time of Daniel through the second coming of Christ. Coffee and fellowship will be held at 9:30 a.m. Baby-sitting will be provided. The center is at the corner of Cohoe Avenue and Farnsworth Boulevard in Soldotna behind The Salvation Army. Thursday Bible study set

Kenai First Baptist Church holds the Bible study, "A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place," at 10 a.m. Thursdays in the church fellowship hall. Child care will be available.

Clothes Quarters open

The Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at 225 S. Spruce St. behind Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. The store sells clothes and free trade coffee.

Thanksgiving potluck planned

Funny River Bible Church on Brown's Lake Road will host a community potluck at 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Community members are asked to call Pastor Joel Poe at 262-6344 to see what to bring.

Fair trade bazaar planned

The Soldotna United Methodist Church women's group will hold its 25th annual Ten Thousand Villages fair trade handicraft sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 24 at the church at 158 S. Binkley, behind Safeway in Soldotna. Handcrafted merchandise ranging from folk art to ceramics, textiles, baskets, jewelry and musical instruments, international music, fair traded gourmet coffee and chocolate made from fair traded cocoa beans.

Women's Christmas brunch set

Kenai Aglow will host its annual Christmas brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 1 at Alaska Christian College, 35109 Royal Place (off of West Poppy Lane.) A catered brunch, local entertainment, door prizes, and a Christmas message by Nancy Haney are some of the planned activities. An onsite bookstore will be open during the event. The cost is $10 per person. It is open to area women.

Cookies by the pound available

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will hold its 13th Annual Cookies 'Buy' the Pound holiday bake sale from 10 a.m. (until cookies are gone) Dec. 8 until at the church at 225 S. Spruce Street in Kenai. Proceeds will benefit the youth group activities.
