Kenneth 'Tex' Brown

Kenai resident Kenneth "Tex" Brown died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at his home. He was 69.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Moose Family Center in Kenai. The VFW Post No. 10046 and the American Legion Post No. 20 will officiate and perform military honors.

Mr. Brown was born Aug. 9, 1935, to Clifford and Mattie Brown in Pampa, Texas. He entered into the U.S. Marines on Nov. 12, 1953, until receiving an honorable discharge Nov. 9, 1955. He worked in the oil field and was retired. He enjoyed his friends, computers and working with tools, mechanics and welding.

"We will miss Tex's sense of humor and enthusiasm for life. He had a stubborn persistence that carried him through his difficulties. For those of us who knew Tex, we hope that this attribute will live on with the rest of us," his family said.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, except for one brother.

He is survived by his brother, Don Brown of Texas; daughters, Linda Gail Richardson of Colorado and Rebecca Robison of Oklahoma.
