The annual sixth-grade swag fund-raiser will start soon. To sign up to help, call 283-4896.

Dr. Donna Peterson, the superintendent of schools, is planning a visit to the school Dec. 7. She will observe classroom activities and meet with staff. An hour also has been set aside as a time for parents to meet informally with her. This meeting will occur from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in the library.

Yearbooks are on sale. The cost is $30. Order forms are available at the office.

The school would like to thank everyone who helped in the annual celebration carnival last week. A special thank you goes out to the staff for their efforts in organizing, cleaning and manning the booths.

The school soon will open a clothing outlet. This "store" will be stocked with new and nearly new clothing that the school receives as donations. Many students are in need of some assistance from time to time. Any help from the community will be appreciated. See Mrs. Moock if you have any questions, or call the school at 283-4896. Mrs. Moock or nurse Howard are interested in referrals of students who may be in of need assistance. Student privacy will be assured.

Alaskan Bikers Advocating Training and Education (ABATE) Thanksgiving dinners are available. If you are a family in need of assistance, call the school at 283-4896 and reserve a Thanksgiving basket. Dinners need to be picked up Nov. 24 by 3 p.m.

The annual canned food drive began Monday. The school encourages everyone to bring nonperishable items. The items will be used to sponsor the Christmas drive in December. Remember: Every "can" counts.

Dates to remember:

Today Chamber luncheon; site council meets at 5:30 p.m.;

Friday Character Counts assembly; dance for seventh- and eighth-graders from 6 to 8 p.m.; and

Tuesday Basketball "B" team at 3:30 p.m. at the school; and Principals Day.
