Social studies students in Mr. Carey's classes decorated their lockers and the school making the transition from Red Ribbon Week to Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.

The booster club ski meeting is at 6 p.m. today in the band room to discuss the upcoming invitational.

On Thursday the school will host a quad wrestling meet at 5 p.m.

Wrestling will attend the Soldotna High School North-South tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The school will host the junior varsity North-South tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday.

All-state band and choir finalists will compete in Anchorage from Thursday through Saturday. The band members are Becky Kilfoyle and Greg Evans. The choir members are Kay Lytle, Crystal Ducker, Kelsey Shields, Katie Thornton, Havilah Hilbish, Rachel Beatty, Sean Mallette and Jonathon Baldwin.

In honor of Thanksgiving, the student council is sponsoring a canned food drive through Nov. 24. The classes will compete to see who can bring in the most cans. The students will participate in daily drawings for small prizes and at the end of the week the class with the most cans collectively will have an ice cream social. The cans will be distributed to various organizations.

The Interact Club is raising money to send an Alaska Christmas gift to the Marines in alpha company stationed in Fallujah, Iraq. Students have been asked to bring in spare change to help with the cost. The fund-raising will continue through Nov. 24.
