Posted: Wednesday, November 17, 2004

Wings of America, an American Indian youth development program, is seeking the most accomplished and promising junior runners for the junior men and junior women six-person, all-Indian teams for the USA Track and Field Cross Country Championships to be held in Vancouver, Wash.

Wings' mission is to enhance the quality of life for American Indian youth. In partnership with Native communities, Wings uses running as a catalyst to empower American Indian and Alaska Native youth to take pride in themselves and their cultural identity.

Runners hoping to be nominated for the championships must be between the ages of 14 and 19 in 2005. Nomination forms must be received in the Wings office by Dec. 23. Runners can nominate themselves.

To receive a nomination form or have questions answered, call Wings at (505) s982-6761 or e-mail KellyConcho@aol.com.
