Fundraiser planned for Dean Roney

There will be a fundraiser for Dean Roney, who suffered severe head trauma in late August, at the Kenai Elks Lodge, Nov. 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. Music will be provided by Bull Don and The Moose Nuggets. Come sample a lasagna dinner, adult beverages and an auction. Tickets will be sold at the door. $10 per person or $30 for family. For more information, call Somer Roney, 398-7227.

Nikiski fitness activities available

Nikiski Pool has space available for semi-private swim lessons starting Nov. 30 through Dec. 10. Maximum two in a class,

And the Nikiski Community Recreation Center is offering a Bicycle Spin Class, Saturdays, 9 to 10 a.m.; and Wednesdays, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. For more information call 776-8800.

Christmas tree auction coming

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center hosts its second annual Christmas Tree Auction from Nov. 26 to Dec. 4. Come to the center and see the beautiful decorated Christmas trees from local non-profit service organizations, and bid for a chance to take your favorite tree home or to your business. The display is free and open to the public. The auction closes Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. with holiday carols and cookies at 1:00 p.m.

Extended center hours for the Christmas Tree Auction are: Friday, Nov. 26, for "Christmas Comes to Kenai," 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Monday through Friday, Nov. 29 to Dec. 3. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.For more information, or to see the trees after Nov. 26, visit the website at

Fish and Game advisory group meets

The Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee meets Nov. 23, at 6:30 p.m., at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on K-Beach Road to discuss Board of Fisheries proposals.
