Homer chamber mixer set

The Hair Gallery will host the Homer Chamber of Commerce mixer from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the corner of Pioneer Avenue and Main Street. The evening activities will include refreshments and door prizes. For more information, call the chamber at (907) 235-7740.

Christmas bazaar planned in Homer

Homer's annual nonprofit Christmas bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Homer Middle School. This year's theme will be Christmas By the Sea. Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated booth. Crafts, food and children's activities are planned. Twenty-five nonprofit organizations will participate. Fish and Game advisory committee to meet

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Kenai River Center. Topics of discussions will include the report on the Board of Fisheries statewide meeting, the number of Kenai River guides, bear baiting, and bear viewing-safety. Planning and zoning meeting canceled

The city of Kenai Planning and Zoning Commission's Nov. 26 meeting has been canceled due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at city hall council chambers. For more information, call 283-7535, ext. 235.

Native Christmas bazaar planned

Ninilchik Native Descendants Inc. will hold its annual Christmas bazaar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Ninilchik School gym. Rental space is $10. For more information, call Jamie Leman at (907) 567-3361 or 567-3722.

Volunteers sought for air quality research

Wisdom and Associates Inc. has been awarded a grant from the Cold Climate Housing Research Center in Fairbanks to study indoor air quality problems in homes on the Kenai Peninsula.

The purpose of the study is to find the root cause of indoor air quality problems, such as ventilation, moisture, radon and combustion air problems. For more information or to participate in the study, call 283-0629.
