Wasilla resident Joyce M. Billings died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Wasilla. She was 84.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Chugiak Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Billings ashes were scattered on Kenai River on Wednesday, Nov. 17. A memorial is planned later in San Antonio.
Mrs. Billings was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Minden City, Mich., to George Meredith and Amanda Bender. She graduated from Sandusky High School and married Almon Billings Jr. in 1938 in Sandusky, Mich. The Billingses moved to Alaska, where Mrs. Billings worked for the city of Kenai and later retired from there.
Mrs. Billings was preceded in death by her husband, Almon Billings Jr.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Raynold Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dan Blanchard; and grandchildren, Robert Lewis, Ken Lewis and Danielle Blanchard.
Arrangements were made by Evergreen Funeral Home in Anchorage.
