Tyonek school awarded Challenger scholarship

The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska, with help of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is awarding scholarships for five, week-long sessions of outreach in Alaska schools during the 2001-02 school year. Tebughna School in Tyonek is one of the five to receive the scholarship.

The week-long sessions are designed primarily for fourth through eighth grade classrooms to bring hands-on, discovery-based science in as an integral part of the students' educational experiences. An instructor from the CLCA will travel out to these selected locations to work with students in the regular classroom setting. With the help of specific activities that supplement the curriculum and enrich what is already happening in the classroom.
