Kenai Cooperative Preschool

Posted: Wednesday, November 19, 2003

This month, preschoolers have been learning about Claude Monet and making Impressionist paintings.

Students also enjoyed learning about Teddy Roosevelt and celebrating Teddy Bear Day.

Red, white and blue themes and Yankee Doodle brought out preschool patriotism for Veterans Day.

Peanuts provided nutty learning activities, including making peanut butter, graphing, sorting and sequencing.

This week, preschoolers will learn about sharing through the timeless stories, "The Little Red Hen" and "Stone Soup." From grinding wheat to making their own bread to washing and chopping vegetables for soup, the preschoolers will get hands-on practice in working together and sharing.

Next week, they will become Pilgrim children and learn about thankfulness. The little Pilgrims even will make their own hand-dipped candles.

The Stone Soup Potluck is Thursday.

Thanks to everyone who contributed time and treats for the Halloween party; to the quarterly cleaners who clean up the preschool messes; and to cookie dough sellers.

There still is space available at Kenai Cooperative Preschool. For more information, call 283-3100.
