Women's prayer group to meet

Nikiski Aglow offers women Christian fellowship, prayer and Bible study every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at North Star Methodist Church, Mile 25.5 Kenai Spur Highway.

Holiday bazaar planned

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will hold its annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Star of the North Lutheran Church at 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai.

A variety of handmade crafts, baked goods and miscellaneous items will be available. All proceeds will go to support mission work. The public is invited.

Fair trade craft sale planned

A Ten Thousand Villages craft sale will be held at 9 a.m. Nov. 26 and 27 at the Soldotna United Methodist Church.

The sale features handcrafted home decor and gifts made by artisans from Africa, Asia and Latin America.


Pastor Coggins

Coggins leads Kenai chapel

Wayne Coggins recently became the new pastor for North Kenai Chapel. Coggins, 58, has 37 years of experience as a pastor, most recently as the pastor at Abbott Loop Community Church in Anchorage. He also has served as a pastoral counselor at Cornerstone Clinic, an Anchorage-based Christian medical and counseling ministry.

Coggins holds master's degrees in theology and counseling and was a contributing author of the recently released book "Lovers For Life."

In conjunction with his duties as pastor, Coggins plans to open a counseling office.

He is joined by his wife, Marveen. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
