Kasilof resident Mr. Kirk Hans Vos, 36, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna.
No services will be held.
Mr. Vos was born Feb. 25, 1973 to Paul Elmer and Myrna Christine (Gift) Vos in Coos Bay, Ore. He moved to Alaska in 1989.
"From Seward to Hope to Kasilof and all who knew Kirk for his good nature, conscientious behavior and honesty made him a joy to be around. Kirk without a doubt captured everyone's hearts that met and knew him. Life dealt Kirk a difficult hand to play but he accepted it with dignity and absolutely no bitterness against anything or anyone," his family said. "He was as active as his life could allow, with many indoor and outdoor activities that kept him occupied to his full capacity. All of which maintained his self-esteem, virtual independence and pride in what he could accomplish. He will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew him."
Mr. Vos is survived by his brothers, Michael, Joe, and Bert; sisters, Joanne, Janet and Denise; parents, Paul and Myrna "Chris" Vos; uncle, Bruce Ladd; and many other uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
