Longtime Sterling resident Ned. E. Clark died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at his home. He was 62.
At the family's request, there are no services planned.
Mr. Clark was born June 16, 1939, in Polk County, Iowa. He moved to Bellflower, Calif., in 1941, and later graduated from Anaheim High School in Anaheim, Calif. He came to Alaska in May 1958 at the age of 18. He lived in Soldotna until 1966 and then moved to Sterling. He resided there until the time of his death. Mr. Clark also served in the National Guard in California and Alaska.
Mr. Clark worked in construction for a short time. He also worked for the Kenai Peninsula Borough and retired as the head custodian at Soldotna Elementary School around 1991.
Mr. Clark was an avid reader and loved to collect and tape movies.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Clark.
Mr. Clark is survived by his mother, Margaret Clark of Visalia, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law Melvin and Inga Clark of Lakewood, Calif., and Harold and Shirley Clark of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brother, Glen Clark of Woodlake, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Burt Mayfield, of Poteau, Okla.; and six nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
