More rules on the river?

Posted: Monday, November 20, 2006

Hmmm! More drift boat days on the Kenai River huh? Will that include allowing guides on those additional days? Drift boats are exclusive, you know. Us older Alaskans find drift boats of little utility and those with handicaps are eliminated from fishing entirely on drift boat only days unless they are fortunate to have a friend who has a drift boat and invites them along.

Be careful with this one or there will just be a increase of “bandit” guides masquerading as recreational fishermen on those “additional drift boat days” like there is now on Mondays in July.

And what about enforcement? Phooey. We can’t seem to enforce our existing rules let alone more.
