Health centers board to meet

Enstar on tap for chamber

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will host Curtis Thayer of Enstar at noon Tuesday at Froso’s Restaurant. For more information, call 262-9814.

Turkey fry slated

The Lion’s Club will have a turkey fry Tuesday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. Anyone interested can bring their turkey, Cornish hens or chicken to be fried.

Birds must not weigh more than 22 pounds and must be thawed and cleaned. People should bring a clean dish to take the birds home. The cost is $10. For more information, call 776-7654.

Mental health class set

Central Peninsula Counseling Services continues its free resiliency building classes with Intervention for Suicidal Behavior from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Redoubt Room of Central Peninsula General Hospital.

The class, the last in the eight-week series, will be presented by Margene Andrus. For more information, call 260-3691.

Meat thermometer up for grabs

The Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Extension office on Kalifornsky Beach Road has free publications on safely thawing and roasting a turkey and storing leftovers. Salvation Army hosts Thanksgiving dinner

The Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving Day dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Community Center Building on Forest Drive in Kenai. The dinner is free and open to the public.
