DETROIT -- Nick Lidstrom scored twice and Martin Lapointe netted his team-leading 11th goal to lead Detroit to a 6-3 victory over Nashville.

Darren McCarty broke a 3-3 tie 32 second into the third period by taking the puck around the Predators' net and banking it off sprawling goaltender Tomas Vokoun.

Lapointe gave Detroit a 5-3 lead with 15 minutes to play when his shot from the left circle knuckled past Vokoun.

Lidstrom then found an open net on the power play with 7:54 to go to make it 6-3 Detroit. Vokoun had flopped to try to poke the puck away from Lapointe, but Lapointe passed to Lidstrom.
