DETROIT -- Nick Lidstrom scored twice and Martin Lapointe netted his team-leading 11th goal to lead Detroit to a 6-3 victory over Nashville.
Darren McCarty broke a 3-3 tie 32 second into the third period by taking the puck around the Predators' net and banking it off sprawling goaltender Tomas Vokoun.
Lapointe gave Detroit a 5-3 lead with 15 minutes to play when his shot from the left circle knuckled past Vokoun.
Lidstrom then found an open net on the power play with 7:54 to go to make it 6-3 Detroit. Vokoun had flopped to try to poke the puck away from Lapointe, but Lapointe passed to Lidstrom.
Stars 6, Lightning 2
DALLAS -- Brad Lukowich and Roman Lyashenko each scored their first goals of the season during a five-goal second period as the Dallas Stars beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 Monday night.
Mike Modano had a goal and two assists in the second period and Brett Hull added his 622nd career goal late in the period.
Lukowich had given the Stars a 1-0 lead at 6:41 of the second. Pavel Kubina tied it at 1-1 for the Lightning 47 seconds later while Tampa Bay held a two-man advantage.
Lyashenko broke the tie at 12:21 of the second period from the slot on a setup by Darryl Sydor.
Mike Keane got his fifth of the season on a centering pass by Kirk Muller at 13:55 of the second period and Modano scored a minute and 18 seconds later.
Modano's sixth of the season completed a barrage of four goals on four shots in a span of two minutes and 52 seconds against Lightning goaltender Kevin Weekes.
Hull completed the dominant second period when he notched his team-leading 12th goal of the season with 46 seconds left in the period to stretch Dallas' lead to 5-1 lead.
The Stars last had a five-goal period on Nov. 5, 1999 in the third period of a game at Phoenix.
