Amy Pate of California and Charles "Charlie" Foster of Soldotna were married Saturday, July 10, 2004, in Lakeside, Calif.

The outdoor ceremony was held by the courtyard fountain of grandparents Charles and Ruth Foster's home in the San Diego area.

The bride is the daughter of John and Marlene Gladis of Lakeside. She is employed by an insurance company in the San Diego area.

The groom is the son of Jeff and Kathy Foster of Soldotna. He is a 1996 graduate of Soldotna High School and graduated from Polymar College with a degree in electronics. He completed his five-year apprenticeship for the IBEW in the San Diego area.

The maid of honor was Lisa Biesek. April Hladik, Lisa Vik and Trish Engel were the bridesmaids. Brooklyn Pate, daughter of the bride, and Alexsandra and Kareena Gladis, twin nieces of the bride, were the flower girls.

Gary Waldren, cousin of the groom, was best man. The groomsmen were Douglas Reger and Cameron Miles of Soldotna and Kjel Brothen of Louisiana. William Waldren, godson of the groom, was the ring bearer. Chase Waldren ushered. Brother of the groom, Michael Foster, and Dawn Hamilton of Michigan helped coordinate and videotape the wedding and reception, which followed ceremony.

The couple met in 2003 on a weekend getaway with friends at the Colorado River in Lake Martinez, Ariz., and honeymooned there. They make their home in the San Diego area with their daughter, Brooklyn.

The bride and groom are planning a visit to Alaska in the summer and a reception will be held for family and friends to meet the groom's new family.
