Canine Good Citizen test planned Dec. 3

The Kenai Kennel Club will hold a Canine Good Citizen test at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at its facility in the Kenai Mall behind Sears in Kenai.

The test consists of 10 stations that are designed to ensure that a dog can be a respected member of the community because it is trained and conditioned to act mannerly in the home, public places and in the presence of other dogs.

The program is open to all dogs -- purebreds and mixed breeds. The test is not a competition and does not require you and your dog to perform with precision.

Proof of current shot records must be presented before dogs enter the building to test.

The program is offered through the American Kennel Club and costs $10. For more information, visit www.akc.org/events/cgc/program.cfm, e-mail dormar@alaska.net or call 252-4058 and leave a message.
