No chamber luncheon this week

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will not hold its weekly luncheon today in observance of Thanksgiving.

Swim lessons available

Sign-ups for Nikiski Pool swim lessons will begin at 7 a.m. today at the Nikiski Pool classroom. The cost of the program is $30 for service area residents and $35 for nonservice area residents. For more information, call 776-8800.

Multiple Sclerosis Society offers presentation

The Alaska Division of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will present "Multiple Sclerosis in 2000: A Model of Psychosocial Support," a medical professional teleconference, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 7. The event will take place at Central Peninsula General Hospital and at four other locations in the state. Attendees may earn free continuing education credits; materials are included. Central Emergency Services collecting food

Central Emergency Services has established collection sites for holiday food donations to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Food items may be deposited from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout November and December at the fire station at Mile 84 of the Sterling Highway, the station at mile 13.5 on Kalifornsky Beach Road or the station across from Safeway on Binkley.

Soroptomists taking candy orders

Soroptomists International of Twin Cities is taking orders for Sees Candies through Dec. 3. The orders will be delivered in time for Christmas. Proceeds from this annual fund-raiser go toward scholarships for area women to attend the Young Women's Conference and toward other community projects. For more information, call 262-9253.
